THE WARATAH

The Waratah is the first of its kind within the town centre of Katoomba, which sees the gentrification of a once dilapidated heritage site, into a lively and meaningful development.

A key focus of this project was the preservation of the heritage shop fronts and their ongoing contribution to the streetscape and future needs of the community.  

The residential apartments at the rear are a modest addition to the site, offering a heritage response in terms of form, materiality and scale.
